I have been practicing Criminal Law, exclusively, in Ontario for over 30 years. While my primary focus in defending criminal offences is in the area of drinking and driving charges, my experience and practice includes defence of theft and shoplifting charges, assault, weapons charges, fraud and drug offences. In addition to managing a busy criminal law practice, I also take time to speak at conferences and other symposiums on the law of defending drinking and driving offences. My expertise in defending impaired charges has been frequently demonstrated during the course of my practice. I estimate that I have defended over 2000 clients charged with drinking and driving related offences during the past 30 years. I have appeared in Ontario Provincial Courts, as far north as North Bay, West to Windsor, East to Ottawa, and in the Metropolitan Toronto area and surrounding municipalities.

I always invite new clients to come in for a free initial consultation to review the facts of their case. Many people feel discouraged about defending an impaired driving offence yet wish to avoid a criminal record or need to preserve their licence which is crucial to their livelihood. After I have reviewed the facts of your case with you, I will provide you with a summary of what I feel are the most significant issues in your case, the advantages of defending any charge, and the challenge you are facing. I will meet with you, at your convenience, and offer appointments to my clients in evenings and on weekends to accommodate their work schedules.
I like to encourage my clients to contact me whenever they feel the need. During the course of the preparation for your trial, I will meet with you and any witnesses, several times. My objective is to begin preparing for your defence early so that key evidence is not forgotten or overlooked. During our initial consultation I will quote a fee to you, based on the amount of work I believe is involved in your case. This fee will cover all the work that is required to prepare for one scheduled trial date. Knowing that my fee is "all-inclusive" encourages clients to keep in touch with me, or to call whenever they have questions or concerns. This helps to develop a strong working relationship and keep you involved in the preparation of your defence.
